Key West Snorkel Trip - A Chance For Undersea Photos

Key West Snorkel Trip

I was reading a magazine and flipping through some books about scuba diving and snorkeling and got the urge to plan a snorkeling trip to Key West. I had take some snorkeling courses while vacationing in St. Croix and ever since that trip I have had the urge to do some more diving in an exotic location. I really enjoy the warm Caribean waters and always look forward to a chance to visit the resorts there again.

The Florida Keys are home to some of the most beautiful reefs in the world. You will find all kinds of tropical fish and beautiful sea plants there. The water is warm and clear almost all year round so anytime you plan a trip to snorkel there will be rewarding. So my next Key West Snorkel Trip will be very soon. I plan to travel direct from my home right to the airport in Key West (and since I will be leaving from snowy Chicago I plan to buy travel insurance in case I have trouble getting my flight in the snow!).

My snorkel trip to the Keys this year will be a little different in that I bought an underwater housing for my digital camera. I plan on taking some underwater pictures this time to share with family and friends. I have always been intrigued by underwater photos so this will be an opportunity for me to try my hand at it. I tested my underwater housing in the bathtub before I put my camera in it to be sure there were no leaks and I am ready to try it when I get to the Keys.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling in Akumal, Mexico

By Macon Gravlee
When traveling to Akumal Mexico one nearly passes this small quiet village by without realizing that it is actually one of the Caribbean coast's best locations for diving and snorkeling on the Yucatan Peninsula. Akumal is located a mere 65 miles to the south of the Cancun resort area and 50 miles from the Mexican airport. It may be small but it is the ideal vacation get away for families or divers who wish to escape the daily rush of Mexico's often crowded beaches.
