Snorkeling And Scuba Diving In Kauai Hawaii

Scuba Diving Kauai

I recently spent the holidays and Kauai to do some scuba diving. I also took my family as well since Hawaii has many fabulous beaches and things for kids to do and some of the most beautiful waters for scuba diving. This was not my first trip to scuba dive in Kauai. The last time we took a family holiday like this it was a cruise in the Bahamas and we all had a blast! I am in a scuba diving club back home so all the people in my club gave me the best tips on where to dive when I got to Kauai, where to find diving classes, and the best dive shop on the island.

While I was in Kauai I did some shopping at the local dive shops. I needed a new diving regulator as mine was getting old. So I found myself a new regulator and of course some other new gear that I just had to have including a new diving knife just in case I were to run into a big shark!

What I really love about diving in Hawaii is the crystal-clear water, the beautiful fish and marine life, and the warm ocean water. Personally, I can't tolerate cold water. I've tried diving along the West Coast of the United States where the Pacific Ocean runs cold, and in lakes, ponds, and quarries. I'm just not a cold water diver. I much prefer diving trips to the Caribbean, Central America, and Hawaii. Not only that, the weather is almost always nice in Hawaii so even when you're not diving there is always something to do. That is why I like to bring my golf clubs along with me.

And since I travel with my family who don't snorkel or scuba dive, there is always something for them to do as well. On the island of Kauai, there are beautiful beaches to explore, plenty of shopping, and beautiful scenery. One day, as I was diving the reefs off the coast of Kauai, my family was taking a helicopter tour of the tropical rain forest. At the end of the day, we compared notes and talked about our adventures. What a wonderful way to spend a vacation.

Scuba Diving and Snorkeling in Akumal, Mexico

By Macon Gravlee
When traveling to Akumal Mexico one nearly passes this small quiet village by without realizing that it is actually one of the Caribbean coast's best locations for diving and snorkeling on the Yucatan Peninsula. Akumal is located a mere 65 miles to the south of the Cancun resort area and 50 miles from the Mexican airport. It may be small but it is the ideal vacation get away for families or divers who wish to escape the daily rush of Mexico's often crowded beaches.
